The Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry is a free resource for members of the University of Florida community.

The Pantry offers supplementary pantry staples such as, bread, nonperishable canned items, frozen meats, bread ,and seasonal produce from the Field & Fork Farm and Gardens.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: THE PANTRY WILL BE CLOSED ON FRIDAY APRIL 26TH, 2024. THE PANTRY WILL BE OPEN ON MONDAY, APRIL 29TH FROM 1 PM TO 4 PM AND TUESDAY, APRIL 30TH FROM 12 PM TO 4 PM. THE PANTRY WILL BE CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 1 TO FRIDAY, MAY 3 2024.

We want to give a special thank you to everyone who came out to our spring open house! We are so grateful for all the staff, interns, clubs that tabled and all the amazing people that came to visit the farm!

Our New Farm Manager! Meet Noah! He just graduate

Our New Farm Manager!

Meet Noah! He just graduated from the University of Florida with his bachelors of science in horticultural sciences! He has served as an intern on the farm for two semesters and his favorite part about the farm has been the people!

He joined the program because of a friend who motivated him to apply and found his love for the farm! Noah’s advice for anyone interested in applying for an internship is that growing delicious food for others is one of the most rewarding feelings you can have!

Spring 2023 Graduate Assistant Highlight

Meet Sam! She is a second year master student majoring in agronomy focused in agroecology! She plans to in a food system related job and hoping to help farmers, and promote local food. Her favorite part about being a graduate assistant is getting
to spearhead her own project, truly know hard work and be challenged. She also enjoys the calming and lovely environment on the farm!

During her time at the farm, she has learned the the importance of local and diverse food, and the value of getting outside and connecting with the earth. She has also learned just how rewarding it is to be able to help others while doing something you love!

Sam had have been to the farm before applying and thought the assistantship was a lovely opportunity. She really wanted to find somewhere to support a project on organic peanut production in Florida!

Her advice to anyone who wants to apply in the future is to come out to the farm and take a stroll!! Come see the wonderful space and definitely volunteer if you’re interested. Farming is a beautiful thing!

Spring 2023 Intern Highlights

Meet Lana! She is a freshman majoring in agriculture education and communication with a specialization in agriculture education. This is her first semester on the farm and has gotten the opportunity to run the farms social media platforms this year!

Lana’s favorite part about being an intern is gaining hands-on agricultural experience, valuable life skills, and learning from the amazing team of interns! She has also loved gaining communication skills working in the outreach role this semester!

Lana became interested in being an intern through a tour of the farm during the Florida Youth Institute! Being an intern has been a life change experience for her and she is so grateful for this incredible opportunity!
