The annual Chop & Chomp (Beat FSU) Food Drive competition to benefit the Alan and Cathy Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry begins November 1st. Leading up to the big rival game, the Field & Fork Pantry will go head-to-head against the FSU Food for Thought Pantry in a food drive competition to raise awareness of campus food insecurity and help stock pantry shelves.
This food drive is an excellent way for the UF community to impact food security. All donations collected from November 1st to November 25th will go towards the Field & Fork Pantry's total score.
HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?
Make a food shelf-stable and non-perishable food or monetary donation through the following methods beginning Wednesday, November 1st:
- Reitz Union – information desk on level 1
- Library West
- Southwest Recreation Center
- Donate items from the Pantry Wishlist
- Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry: donations are accepted during regular hours
WANT TO DO MORE?
Monetary donations can be sent directly to the pantry's foundation account.
Host a collection site and bring collected items to the pantry between November 1-25th. Please sign-up by Tuesday, October 31st. https://ufl.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2mZsZzgCxwlzVFc
The easiest thing to do is spread the word! Please share it with family, friends, colleagues, or anyone you know who might be interested in participating.
The scores will be tallied, and the winner between UF & FSU will be announced the week of finals at @fieldandforkuf.
Outside of the above opportunity, if your office, organization, or student group would like to plan a food drive, please reach out our Pantry Operations Coordinator Danielle Guess (firstname.lastname@example.org) or the Assistant Dean and Director of Campus Assistance & Resources for Empowerment(CARE) Nadene Reynolds (email@example.com). We appreciate your consideration.
