Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry Groundbreaking

Filling Shelves to Fill Minds

Since 2015, the Alan and Cathy Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry has assisted the members of the University of Florida campus community who experience food insecurity. The Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry is committed to providing food to those in need, regardless of whether that need is chronic or temporary. The operation of the Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry is made possible through donations from the campus community, local Publix supermarkets and financial contributions from dedicated supporters.

Breaking Ground on Phase II

As the University of Florida continues its drive to becoming a top five public institution, it is committed to ensuring that every member of the UF community has access to nutritious foods. The second phase of the Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry will allow visitors to not only have enough food to be successful, but also learn healthy food choices and cooking techniques.

Since its opening, the Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry has conducted nearly 39,000 transactions. The second phase will give the Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry even more space to display non-perishable food items and fresh produce from the Field & Fork Farm and Gardens, a dedicated area for storage and processing of donations, and a teaching and demonstration area. Please join the University of Florida for a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the expansion of UF’s Campus Food Program. Attendees are encouraged to bring one non-perishable item to help fill the shelves!
